sneak peek into IT industry on 19 th August 2017 for the benefit of third year and final year
Computer Science and Engineering students of NMAMIT, Nitte. Ms. Seema, Senior
Development Lead, QSG Technologies, Bengaluru, was the resource person. The session
was for two hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Around 180 students attended this session. The
technical session included the following topics in brief:

* Recent Client side technologies
* Recent Server side technologies
* SQL vs NoSQL
* Software testing tools – Web automation, Mobile automation, Back end testing, White
box testing, Load testing, Testing framework, Security testing
* Technical interview tips
* Testing vs Development job profile description.

Invited Talk By Deepak Raj (alumnus 89EC), CEO, Founder Oesto3d

Mr . Deepak addressed the students of CS, IS, EC and Mechanical Engineering on Journey from Nitte: Automotive, Automation, Health care and 3d on 9th august 17 at Sambhram. In his talk he said how as a fresh Engineering Graduate he was not able to connect real problem with theoretical one. He encouraged students to visualize, think in a different way for engineering applications. He briefed on health care domain in 3d printing.

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp programme for final years was conducted , on 11th August17. The programme was inaugurated by Sri. Prajwal V Kumar( alumnus 04EC), Managing Director, RobautonicsPvt. Ltd, Kuloor, Mangalore, by lighting the lamp. In his inaugural address, he suggested that students must think on Entrepreneurship and atleast 10% students to become the Job provider than a job seeker. Sri Prajwal V Kumar shared his business experiences, real challenges and problems he faced to become a successful entrepreneur.

WENAMITAA in association with The Computer Society of India, NMAMIT Student Branch, organized a workshop on “User Centered Design” on the 28th of January,2017 at Shambhavi hall, NMAMIT.

Mr.Vigneshwar Poojar(Alumnus EC10), Interaction designer in in [24]7Ltd, Bengaluru and also executive member, Be-NMAMIT. This event was as an initiative from Be-NMAMIT, the Alumni chapter of Bangalore.

The workshop focused on user Centered design, creation of persona, wireframes. Hand on session, wherein the participants had to form a team of four to ideate an App, create personas for the App and present it before everyone. The workshop witnessed the active participation of 40 students from the departments of CSE, ISE and MCA .

IEI Student’s Chapter organized a Technical Talk –“Vehicle to vehicle communication and Safety”, on 21st October 2016, at 2.30 pm at Shambhavi seminar hall, NMAMIT. Mr. Oswald Mendonca, Senior Architect, BU Automobile – BL Car,NXP Semiconductor. Faculty coordinator IEI Student’s chapter, Prof. Padmavathi, Office bearers and student members, M.Tech students were present.

The 3rd AGM of wenamitaa, was held on 24th Sept 16. Dr. Muralidhar, President wenamitaa, presented activities of alumni in the campus for the year 15-16 and put forth events for the year 16-17. Mr. Venkatesh Kamath, Treasurer wenamitaa, presented the financial details of the Association and the expenditure for the year 15-16. The budget for the year 16-17 was presented. Various resolutions pertaining to effective functioning of the association put forward were unanimously passed by the corum.

Project on Video Streaming is offered to the selected students’of CS,IS and MCA by Mr. Ajeet Koru , an alumnus of second batch of BE(91CS). Live streaming on project was held in PG and Research lab, CSE department ,on 21st Sept 16 at 8.30 am, when Mr. Ajeet briefed the students.

Sandesh B. Suvarna (Alumnus 2010,CS) Master’s in’ Engineering Management’ at SJCE, Mysore, worked in IBM for two years. In two years he won 10 awards of eminence, excellence and great telecom mind etc. Has his own start up,’ Thappad ‘ on the lines of An Evangelist for the Indian Market for Ionic Framework of the USA. He has the honour of creating an app in 4 mts the variant of which in IBM was sold at 1.4 million dollars!!

Sandesh was chief guest for CSI NMAMIT chapter activities 16-17 inaugural on 29th Aug at Shambhavi. He conducted a workshop on how to make an app in 4 minutes.

Lakshmeesha Naik,(alumnus EC12),Research Scholar, IIT Mumbai, addressed EC student on 26th Aug.

Guruprasad Acharya(Alumnus1999 ME) Founder korefabrik was here at NMAMIT on the 25th of Aug 16. He addressed the Alumni-Volunteers(who will be involved in alumni related activities) of various branches about his product which he is going to launch. Students interacted with him about the product.

Dr. Saritha Shetty(Alumna EC2000), Addressed students of NMAMIT on Cryptography and Security, on 22nd Aug at 2.30 pm at Sambhram. She is presently working as Senior Inventor, IBM, UK and has 13 patents to her credit.
Mechanical Engineering students interested in getting into Marine Engineering were given inputs on “Career in Merchant Navy” by Sudhakar Shetty (Alumnus 87 ME), Chief Engineer, Merchant Navy on 20th August 16, 11 am, at Sambhram, NMAMIT, Nitte. In his talk he elaborated on Marine Engineering Course, sailing experience, security and responsibilities at various levels. This talk enabled the students to understand the nuances of career in Merchant Navy.

On 16th Aug Mr. Sandesh Rai(presidend Be-NMAMIT) and Keerthan GM (treasurer Be-NMAMIT) office bearers of Be-NMAMIT, Bengaluru visited Nitte and addressed Mechanical and MCA students at NMAMIT about Be-NMAMIT involvement in shaping students through various activities. Student volunteers from each branch are interviewed to select a few who are going to be the link between NMAMIT and Alumni at Bengaluru. He addressed alumni faculty members.




NMAMIT will be happy to see more Alumni visiting and interacting with the juniors.
